Pete, his pirates and a mythical boy with thin legs

Tuesday night was excellent.
I saw Pete and The Pirates with Hannah and they were wonderful.

They played the perfect setlist (which I now own) and it not only included Cold Black Kitty but also MR. UNDERSTANDING! and a bunch of infectious and instantly loveable little songs. They were all lovely and adorable and right there infront of me with great dance moves and nice shirts and red wine and £ coins and singing about washing powder and dreams.

And then everything got even more exciting and I discovered something amazing:
MY TRENCH COAT BOY HAS A BAND (I'm really not positive it was him but let's just say it was) Basically. I saw a young male with dark brown hair dressed in black pixie boots, black skinny jeans and a navy floral shirt. He had thin legs. He was the front man of a very impressive and quite heavy band whose music resembled that of the Arctic Monkey's new releases. He had a hypnotic yet approachable stage presence and at certain periods in the performance he made an upright jabbing motion with the guitar and simultaniously, is left leg. This was a powerful movement. Not one that I shall soon forget. This person, I am roughly 70 percent sure, was my trench coat boy.

If you are unaware of whom I am discussing then the, er 'trench coat boy', is a sort of myth that I encountered months ago and blogged about who was, unsurprisingly, wearing a trench coat. I don't want to say I became obsessed with him because that's really quite bad and it didn't get that ridiculous, I'll just say I was 'enthusiastic' at the chance of walking past him again. Anyway, after a sighting in Co-op months went by I kind of forgot about it and then bam! he's in a band supporting Pete and The Pirates. If not him (which I don't really think it actually was) then he has quite a believable look-a-like and a very good, sharp voice.

Red Hot Chili Peppers

My main memories from early 2000/ middle school are that I was weird, I wore Campervan t-shirts and I believed in aliens. Luckily I also loved Red Hot Chili Peppers, which was a lot more acceptable.
They were pretty much all I listened to for about a year and a half so when I heard Zephyr Song song today it just made me feel all happy and warm and nostalgic.
'By The Way' is one of those albums that makes me smile and reminisce.

What Is Art?

Supersonic

First of all my Sunday kick started with a lovely bit of Huey Morgan on 6 Music, never has there been such a cool. smooth talking DJ that can flip from one music genre to another and make it work whilst saying 'Ladies and Gentlemen' I actually adore him. And then I went for a sea side walk and found this superman graffiti so sort of re-enacted the pose and well, the photo's speak for themselves really - I look like a lunatic.

So anyway, next to that it said 'every town needs a hero' then along the same wall there was a big painted sentence saying 'I don't think you've got the patience!'. When what's written is as powerful and thought provoking as that and not written on someone's property, I don't see how it can be classed as vandalism because it hasn't been done out of boredom or disrespect, it's been done with emotion and talent.

Over-doing the head tilt a bit there. Anyway, I spotted the next piece of writing above a bench inside a sandcastle shaped statue thing and just thought it would be a really lovely way of ending this post, and of ending Sunday. I hope you all liked what I've put on here today and also had a nice weekend, good night x

Submarine

Yesterday was my defenition of a perfect day. It was all sunny when I was taking the photo's of Katie then I went to the Hancock Museum with Elizabeth to take photo's of stuffed parrots for my art project, we got a Gregg's, watched some irish dancing going on at The Monument then met George to watch Submarine at The Tyneside Cinema...

We all agreed it's like british Amelie - which is a wonderful thing! It's gorgeous and hillarious and now one of my favourite films. Everyone in it is beautiful but in a natural and refreshing way, genuinly every scene could be a still image. There's duffle coats, there's Welsh accents, there's Polaroid cameras and to top it all off Alex Turner went and did the entire soundtrack! His songs are lovely and the softness of his voice really compliments the parts of the film where they're used. Submarine's definately worth the hype and I would reccoment seeing it :)
